Blagovesta Semkova is Winner in Nikon's Female Facets 2025 Competition
Blagovesta Semkova was successfully recognized as a winner in the prestigious Nikon Female Facets 2025 photography competition.
The contest, which received nearly 3,000 entries, aims to celebrate the creativity and storytelling power of women in photography.
The winners across six main categories, which included themes such as Architecture & Street, Landscape & Travel, and Animals & Wildlife, were announced by Nikon in Düsseldorf on November 18, 2025.
Semkova’s powerful documentary photo "Motherhood", known for its deeply personal and socially engaged narratives, was highlighted and recognized in the competition's People & Portrait category.
Her inclusion among the winners further establishes her as an important voice in contemporary photography.
Upcoming Group Exhibition at Arles: DISOBEDIENT IMAGES
DISOBEDIENT IMAGES is part of the official PROFIFOTO ARLES OFF program. I’m honored to be among the participating artists in this compelling group exhibition, taking place at La Grande Vitrine gallery in Arles, France.
The exhibition will run from July 7 to 13, 2025, open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at 12 rue Jouvène — in the heart of Arles, a city with a long-standing tradition in photography.
Alongside the exhibition, the photobook DISOBEDIENT IMAGES will be presented, featuring the work and ideas of all participating artists. The project explores the theme of visual resistance, the critical image, and the power of photography to challenge established norms.
